As it shows in the picture to the left, there is a large purpose built in book cabinet and the consumer unit has been enclosed the the cabinet!
The picture to the right is a slightly closer picture of inside the cabinet, As you can see you can just about see the consumer unit let alone work on it or get a screwdriver in to take the cover off!
To be fair this is not the electrician at fault here, but whoever built the cabinet, well! Say no more.
As you can imagine, when I told the customer today that he will need to take a section of the cabinet away, so I can put in a new radial supply in that he requires, he was not too pleased! Well, maybe he and the cabinet maker should have thought about access to the consumer unit!
